Is Running a Blog About Domaining Worth It?

Based on my experience (3+ years), the answer is a clear yes. It’s worth it but not for the reasons most people would probably think of. In other words, the direct benefits aren’t all that amazing but the indirect ones make everything worthwhile.

If You Have to Explain What Your Domain Stands For, It Might Not Be That Great

I notice this is a lot: some domains make no sense whatsoever, so sellers end up having to come up with all sorts of complex explanations as to what the domain in question stands for.

In my opinion, if the domain itself doesn’t automatically make people come up with possible uses (in other words, if the seller has to come up with complicated explanations as opposed to letting the domain speak for itself), it’s probably not that great.

Should You List Domains at No Reserve? An Update on the Mr.org Auction

A few days ago, I mentioned the Mr.org GreatDomains auction. The owner listed the domain at no reserve and I explained the risks associated with this approach. The auction in question will end in about 1 day and 9 hours and right now, the price is 5700 EUR after 74 bids.

Why International Investors Like Short Domains

I’m not from the US and therefore, I think I’m in a reasonably good position to explain why international investors like short domains. In my case, as I hope you guys will agree, the language barrier thing is not much of a problem. Even though I’m not a native English speaker, my English is not bad at all.

But for a lot of international investors, the language barrier issue is a huge problem.
