During a negotiation, I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like occasionally giving the other party a piece of my mind.
Sometimes the offers are ridiculous, sometimes the “buyer’s” attitude is ridiculous and so on.
But let’s be honest, what good could come out of this?
I always ask myself what I’d have to gain by having one attitude or another.
Sure, giving someone a piece of your mind would put some immediate satisfaction on the table but that’s pretty much it. In other words, the cons far outweigh the pros.
A lot of domainers miss out on potential sales because they lose their temper.
If you educate the end user who contacted you, that lead *might* turn into a sale.
Again, might, not will but still, it’s something.
If you tell him/her to eff off, then instead of having a low probability of a sale, you end up having a zero percent probability of a sale.
You get the point and the conclusion is simple: even if giving someone a piece of mind provides some temporary relief, it’s never the optimal solution.
