What’s Your Main Strength and Weakness as a Domainer?

Posted on 23 June 2014 by Andrei

Just like you have strengths and weaknesses in other areas of your life, they’re present when it comes to your domaining journey as well, so identifying the #1 strength/weakness would be a decent starting point in my opinion.

I’ll go first:

Did You Register Any Dot Bid, Dot Trade or Dot Webcam Domains?

Posted on 09 June 2014 by Andrei

The General Availability phase for dot bid, dot trade and dot webcam started today. Did you guys register any?

I tried grabbing some dot bid and dot trade domains which represented good “left of the dot + right of the dot” combinations (in other words, domains which represent a good fit for their new gTLD) but didn’t manage to obtain the ones I was after, so I ended the day with zero registrations.

How Many New gTLD Domains Do You Want to Buy in 2014?

Posted on 08 June 2014 by Andrei

I’ve been pretty picky thus far, with 34 new gTLD domains (as mentioned in my 4 case study updates: update1, update2, update3 and update4) acquired up until this point.

By the end of 2014, I will probably end up owning about 100.

On a Scale of One to Ten…

Posted on 20 January 2012 by Andrei

Yes, this is a post about the economy. As a domainer, I care what other domainers think and I’m sure I’m not the only one. On a scale of one to ten (1 = perfect, 10 = worst possible shape), how would you describe the economy at this point and what do you think the future has in store for us (also on a scale of one to ten)?

Domain Values – Are You Bullish or Bearish?

Posted on 27 December 2011 by Andrei

I distinctly remember a post I made a month ago and Paul aka snoopy posted some interesting comments which made it clear that when it comes to future domain values, he is not optimistic. On the other hand, we have Mike Mann as an example of a domainer who added ~100,000 domains to his portfolio in 2011, so he obviously has a completely different opinion.

Predictions for 2012?

Posted on 15 December 2011 by Andrei

First of all, let’s assume that the world won’t end in 2012, I’m pretty sure none of my readers believe it will. That being stated, I’m genuinely curious what your predictions for 2012 are when it comes to:

1) the domaining industry
2) the worldwide economy

The Domaining Industry 5 and 25 Years from Now?

Posted on 14 July 2011 by Andrei

First of all, the two most important questions:

1) How do you think things will stand 5 years from now?

2) What about 25 years from now?

Three follow up questions to keep things organized:

Domainers – What’s Your MBTI Personality Type?

Posted on 12 July 2011 by Andrei

The MBTI personality test is extremely popular and if you never took one before, there’s no time like the present to do just that. It’s a test I personally recommend, I wouldn’t have blogged about it otherwise. I’d appreciate it if you could take it and let us know what the result was so that we can determine which personality types are more common among domainers.

GoDaddy + Silver Lake, KKR, and TCV = ???

Posted on 04 July 2011 by Andrei

As the title suggests, I’m interested in finding out what you think about GoDaddy’s new partnership with Silver Lake, KKR, and TCV. Through this post, I want to ask two simple questions:

1) What will the effects of GoDaddy’s partnership with Silver Lake, KKR, and TCV be in your opinion? Feel free to mention positive as well as negative effects.

2) What would you like the effects of GoDaddy’s partnership with Silver Lake, KKR, and TCV to be? In other words, what changes would make you happy (or happier) as a GoDaddy customer or as a potential GoDaddy customer?

Would You Consider the Sale of GoDaddy Good or Bad News?

Posted on 25 June 2011 by Andrei

I like GoDaddy and currently have about 1,000 domains with them. I love their prices as well as their support and honestly hope that things will never change for the worse. Unfortunately, based on my experience when it comes to the hosting industry, the sale of a great company (oh and btw, the GoDaddy sale is anything but final, Bob Parsons still owns GD) is usually NOT good news if you’re a customer and here’s why:
