GoDaddy Rejecting Additional Groupon Credits

Posted on 05 January 2013 by Andrei

If you were affected, I think you can contact Groupon and request a refund. The Groupon offer was only valid for people from the US or Canada, so I wasn’t able to take advantage of it but based on what I’m hearing/reading, GoDaddy rejected additional Groupon credits today.

For example, if you bought three $70 credit codes via Groupon and applied them, you’ll only see $70 in your account now instead of $210. If you bought 4 $70 credit codes, you’ll only see $70 in your account instead of $280 and so on.

Dot Net Price Increase

Posted on 25 December 2012 by Andrei

The good news from VeriSign (news I’m sure you read about earlier this year) is that, as per the stipulations of their new contract, there won’t be any new price increases for dot coms. That’s excellent news for sure but the bad news for next year is that as of the 1st of July 2013, the wholesale price will increase to $5.62, ICANN fee not included.

DomainNameWire.com Featured on TechCrunch Yesterday

Posted on 07 January 2012 by Andrei

Congrats Andrew! I was browsing TechCrunch and came across their article about Amazon’s potential plans for Casa.com, with DomainNameWire being credited as the source. It’s always nice to come across such posts and it should be obvious to anyone capable of rational thought that our entire industry benefits whenever something like this happens. One step a time, one post at a time, we need to do everything humanly possible to help everyone understand that the domaining industry has its place in the online ecosystem and is here to stay.

Say Goodbye to $1 International PayPal Masspay Payments

Posted on 31 October 2011 by Andrei

It seems that as of this month, PayPal no longer offers international masspay payments at $1 each. Instead of $1, you’ll be paying 2% of the amount that is being sent with a maximum which varies depending on the country you are from and the country you are sending to (in most cases, the maximum seems to be $45).
