DreamHost Users: Change Your FTP/Shell Access Passwords!

Some of you are probably DreamHost customers, so I thought I’d blog about this incident. There was a security breach at DreamHost and as a result, they decided that resetting the FTP/shell access passwords is the best approach. The security breach seems to have only affected FTP/shell access passwords, so all of your other passwords (billing, Web panel, email) have not been changed.

Google Does the Right Thing: Chrome Has Been Penalized

I’m pretty sure at least some of you know that Google has been receiving a lot of criticism lately because their ad agency Unruly Media basically bought links through their Google Chrome campaign, so the ad agency basically exactly what Google tells webmasters not to do. Well, it seems that the Google team did the right thing and as Matt Cutts explained, Chrome has been penalized. Among other things, it dropped from position #2 to position #50 for the term “browser”.

Google Lets You Subscribe via AdWords Ads, FB Launches Messenger for Windows

It seems that 2011 is ending with some interesting developments. First of all, Internet users will be able to subscribe to the advertiser’s newsletter directly through the AdWords ad (screenshot included). And secondly, Facebook launched a Windows-based messenger (screenshot included) through which you’ll be able to communicate with others without being logged in via the Web-based interface. A Simple Long-Term SEO Tip for Domainers

Even huge players such as ehow.com have implemented changes and they did the right thing in my opinion.
