Google Lets You Subscribe via AdWords Ads, FB Launches Messenger for Windows

It seems that 2011 is ending with some interesting developments. First of all, Internet users will be able to subscribe to the advertiser’s newsletter directly through the AdWords ad (screenshot included). And secondly, Facebook launched a Windows-based messenger (screenshot included) through which you’ll be able to communicate with others without being logged in via the Web-based interface.     am I getting the thinking right…you buy adwords ads that are entry into subscribing to the buyers’ newsletter?

    If true, best idea google has had since they went public.

    @Tim: yep 🙂

    I’m not sure how decent the conversion rates are because the ad itself is too short to sell the benefits of subscribing IMO but it would be interesting to see what effect the subscribe thing has on the ad’s CTR.
