“Real Work” on an iPad?

Posted on 10 December 2011 by Andrei

… or on any other tablet for that matter? Can’t remember where I read about iPads being used by domainers but I’m pretty sure a few of the other domain bloggers own one and I’m genuinely curious.

I didn’t buy one up until this point because I have a hard time figuring out how you can genuinely be productive using a tablet. So let’s assume you’re traveling. Can you really work on a tablet such as the iPad for 2-3 hours without having a nervous breakdown and if you do end up working on a tablet, don’t tasks which are simple to say the least when you’re using your laptop become outrageously complicated?

What’s the verdict guys?

Are tablets only good for stuff like media consumption or can these gadgets actually be a decent laptop alternative for “real work” when you’re traveling?

I think tablets are not good if you are a serious domainer, developer or if you are indulge in internet business, it can’t handle all your work with android os, we still are windows friendly people and most of the useful software are developed for windows os, IMO netbook is much better option than a tablet.

iPads helping people to do less paper work.Even politicians using it to demonstrate their plans and ideas to rest in assembly.A excellent tech gadget by Apple.

After using both I would say a netbook wins hands down for being able to get work done on the move. Way better than hauling a large laptop around and much easier to type with compared to a tablet.

Tablets are ok for surfing the web or as mentioned using as a convenient display device.

    Cheers!
