Are Domainers Interested in Economics-Related Stuff?

Posted on 10 October 2015 by Andrei

As some of you know, I’m an economist “by trade” and in my opinion, all domainers should at the very least know the basics when it comes to economics.

Posted on 19 September 2015 by Andrei

… in other words, are you pessimistic or optimistic at this point?

Investment grade domain values are up across the board, especially short domains.

Posted on 15 September 2015 by Andrei

Two days ago, I wrote a post through which I illustrated that even selling a really good new gTLD, easily one of the top 100 for that extension, is anything but easy.

Is There a Reseller Market for “The Best of the Best” New gTLDs?

Posted on 13 September 2015 by Andrei

And when I’m referring to “the best of the best”, I’m not talking about the top 10,000 names within an extension and not even about the top 1,000.

I’m referring to let’s say the absolute best 100 domain names.

Ok, So the $0.99/$1.99/$2.95 GoDaddy Coupons Are Gone…

Posted on 09 August 2015 by Andrei

… let’s try to figure out what the next best thing is.

For this, I need your help.

As some of you have noticed, finding a $0.99 – $2.95 GoDaddy coupon that works is about as easy as finding a unicorn these days. As the domain industry’s self-proclaimed cheap bastard, it’s my moral obligation to help those who are on the lookout for the cheapest possible domain registration options.

I’m especially interested in hearing input from people who have used Flippa a lot. To me, it seems there are waaaaaaaaay too many listings and not enough buyers.

Posted on 28 July 2015 by Andrei

As I’ve mentioned yesterday as well, while I am not excited about the idea of investing in new gTLDs (which is why I only own a few), I do believe the “best of the best” have potential. I got Stocks.XYZ with the intention of developing it for my case study, as I consider it a very good domain, “stocks” is without a doubt a monster term. However, with the upcoming launch of my book, I doubt I’ll have time to touch it anytime soon.

This brings me to the question I’d like to ask today: should I try contacting end users about Stocks.XYZ?

Do You Think the Dot Website New gTLD Will Do OK?

Posted on 17 September 2014 by Andrei

As some of you already know, the General Availability period for Dot Website, Dot Press and Dot Host will start tomorrow instead of today.

There were a lot of launches this week but I’m probably not the only one who considers Dot Website the most interesting one to watch.
