As I’ve mentioned yesterday as well, while I am not excited about the idea of investing in new gTLDs (which is why I only own a few), I do believe the “best of the best” have potential. I got Stocks.XYZ with the intention of developing it for my case study, as I consider it a very good domain, “stocks” is without a doubt a monster term. However, with the upcoming launch of my book, I doubt I’ll have time to touch it anytime soon.
This brings me to the question I’d like to ask today: should I try contacting end users about Stocks.XYZ?
For someone who wants to launch a stock-related site, it’s a very good fit in my opinion. Google treats Stocks.XYZ the same way it treats let’s say Stocks.net, it’s an exact match domain. While exact match domains definitely don’t provide the boost they gave websites back in the day, having one still helps and for industries as competitive as stocks, every advantage can make a difference.
The problem is this: there are too many potential end users and no specific ones.
In other words, this domain is too broad for its own good. Therefore, I wouldn’t even know where to start. When it comes to outbound marketing, the more specific your domain is, the easier your job will be. For example, if you own let’s say Gardening.Book, you can narrow down your search quite a bit and only contact people who published gardening books as opposed to randomly contacting lots and lots of gardening-related website owners.
This is the biggest hurdle with Stocks.XYZ.
Therefore, it’s time for some brainstorming.
If you have any suggestions, post a comment or shoot me an email at admin@domainingtips.com.

Just auction it off. I recommend Flippa as the buyers most often have development in mind.
