Maybe it’s just me but I always find emails from domainers who try to sell me domains by using end user arguments irritating. I’m a RESELLER, so I’m interested in buying domains in order to ultimately sell them to someone else at a profit.

An Open Letter to Nominet and ICANN – One Suggestion, That’s It

I don’t want to turn this post into a novel, so I’ll keep things simple. As most of you probably know, Nominet will be introducing .uk domains. Let’s be honest and leave hypocrisy aside for just one moment: just like new gTLDs represent a way through which ICANN will make a LOT of money, dot uk domains represent a way through which… you guessed it, Nominet will make a LOT of money.

That’s it, just a random thought that will hopefully help you guys avoid useless back and forth arguments in the future. From now on, whenever you come across someone who rationalizes using arguments such as “oh I wish I started investing in domains earlier”, simply explain that our industry isn’t even 20 years old.

Most of us have more than one email account and as a business owner as well as a domainer, it’s inevitable in my case as well. After all, displaying email@project1.com on the “Contact Us” page of project2.com wouldn’t exactly appear all that professional.

Will New gTLDs Affect The Number of Dot Com Registrations?

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Verisign’s stock fell sharply and all in all, the dot com growth rate is slowing down. We still have growth but as the Internet matures, it’s understandable that the growth rate will not always be impressive.
Will new gTLDs affect this growth rate as well?

I’m pretty sure most of you have at least one dot com domain that you’ve been meaning to register “whenever”, so it’s time for another GoDaddy coupon: $1.99 dot com + free dot info. I doubt the .info domain you’ll register will end up being unbelievably useful but hey, at least it’s free 🙂

As most of you know, I specialize in the reseller market and keep in touch with a lot of active resellers. Most of them made money with dot com alternatives but all of their stories (and my personal experience confirms them) have something in common: selling domains in other gTLDs on the reseller market is exponentially harder than selling dot coms!
