In case you didn’t know, April 07 = World Health Day (I found out a few minutes ago tbh, I knew we had one but had no idea it was today). I’m 99.9% sure none of my readers climb mountains for a living and it’s fairly safe to assume that given the nature of our occupation, most of us spend a LOT of time on a chair in front of a computer screen. What do you guys do to stay in shape and what kind of an impact does what you do for a living have on your health?
To be perfectly honest, I’ve actually never been in better shape and the fact that I gradually implemented small lifestyle changes made a big difference IMO. It’s all a matter of common sense at the end of the day, for example:
1) it’s been 7 years since I touched soft drinks (Pepsi, MD and all that crap). I mean let’s face it, there are plenty of healthy alternatives. All you need is fresh fruit, a juicer and there you have it
2) I eliminated French fries and deep fried food in general from my menu
3) cardio, cardio, cardio (I’m not a fan of lifting weights to be perfectly honest and I was always kind of well built, so it’s cardio all the way as far as I’m concerned)
4) generally speaking, I listen to what my body tells me (if you can barely stay awake, maybe it’s time to take a hint). If it asks me to try biphasic sleep on for size today (biphasic sleep = basically a fancy way of saying you’re taking a nap), then I do just that
Are you in decent shape and if so, which lifestyle changes would you recommend?

Cardio as in training for a marathon or something else?

@Nick: I believe in physical activity that makes you healthier and in my opinion, pushing yourself too hard (marathons, for example) does not help you with that goal, so marathons are not really my thing.
Running in general is absolutely great but marathons, meh. I know, I know, they are a challenge and so on but I already deal with enough challenges as it is haha, so I just want something that helps me stay in shape 🙂
