… at least not compared to most “alternatives”. You know what, let’s leave the Internet aside for a moment and analyze some offline companies/brands. Like maybe Pepsi and Coca Cola, which generate billions by selling unhealthy beverages or McDonalds/Burger King/whatever which also generate billions by selling unhealthy food.
The worst thing (in my opinion) is that the previously mentioned companies (for example) advertise to children a LOT and that’s just plain wrong. Selling unhealthy food/beverages through manipulative commercials featuring happy people, cartoons and so on? That makes me sick to be perfectly honest.
Let’s not forget about the usual suspects like tobacco companies and so on, you get the point.
So maybe a few days/months/years from now, you’ll tell someone about the fact that you’re a domainer and if that person starts “explaining” how unethical this occupation is, ask him/her where he/she works.
In most cases, the person in question probably works for a company that generates money through methods which make our industry seem like a puppy nursery. ’nuff said š

I agree and to me it’s amazing that lack of understanding most of have towards the being a domainer. I really think we are forward looking pioneers honestly but maybe that’s a very skewed opinion since I myself am a domainer. Either way what we do I wouldn’t consider unethical at all honestly.

I agree with both of you. We tend to be viewed as used car salesman because the typical end-user doesn’t necessarily understand the value proposition. Regardless of what industry you are in, sales is also viewed as some sort of gimmick. People don’t like to admit it but they love to be sold. š As for the companies listed above, they do indeed make money off of products which potentially can harm ones health. On top of that lets not forget how Coca Cola first started!

I don’t think food and beverages are unhealthy, if they were then they would not have been approved by the government.. Or people would have gone sick after eating that food and beverages.
