Remember the DomainingServers.com Kiva.org Charity Campaign?

Posted on 12 August 2013 by Andrei

I’m sure you remember that a few months ago, we donated 100% of the revenue generated from new DomainingServers.com shared hosting customers via Kiva.org.

Well, you know what the great thing about Kiva is?

Saying “Thanks”

Posted on 07 July 2013 by Andrei

A reader recently asked me if I get lots of traffic when I post about coupons or discounts. To be honest, I don’t even care. The main reason why I write those posts is the fact that people often thank me, which leads me to believe that I’m doing a good job and that those posts are useful.

As a person who runs online businesses, I’ve noticed something interesting: when people are satisfied with a product/service, they usually don’t say thanks or something like that. In most cases, you only hear from most people when they’re *not* satisfied with something.

Happy 4th of July!

Posted on 04 July 2013 by Andrei

I’m not from the US but as a person who earns a living online and who understands that if another country would have been the world’s #1 superpower instead of the US, we probably wouldn’t have had the Internet in its current form, I’d like to wish all of you a Happy 4th of July!

The US might not be perfect but believe me, it sure is better than the other potential superpowers. The Founding Fathers of the US were among the most brilliant individuals that ever existed and I sincerely hope that the people in charge of things over in the States won’t forget what they taught us.

Being Old School – Not Necessarily a Bad Thing

Posted on 01 July 2013 by Andrei

It’s kind of embarrassing but I’ll go ahead and admit it: I’m probably the only person in the world who takes his mouse + keyboard with him when traveling. Don’t know about everyone else but I just can’t be productive enough on a laptop/tablet/smartphone/whatever.

Those are great for things like simply replying to emails here and there but in my case, even when I travel, there’s lots of work that needs to be done.

Add Me on Skype

Posted on 29 June 2013 by Andrei

If you’re an active/experienced domainer and I don’t have you on my Skype list yet, feel free to add me. If you’re a beginner and want to ask me a domaining-related question, please do it via email instead because on Skype, such discussions end up becoming waaaaaaay too long and as much as I’d like to help you, the day only has 24 hours and emails are far more convenient for both parties

In My Opinion, The Economic Crisis Is Here to Stay

Posted on 24 June 2013 by Andrei

Rick Schwartz wrote an article earlier today about why he thinks the effects of the economic crisis will start fading away.

He lives in the United States so from that perspective, I understand the validity of the points he’s making. But as someone who lives in Europe, I will try to explain why I think he is misinterpreting the signs he’s seeing.

I wish the crisis could indeed be over but unfortunately, that’s not the case and without some fundamental changes, I just don’t see it happening.

Sometimes, Playing It Safe Can Be Dangerous

Posted on 07 June 2013 by Andrei

I’m sure you noticed that precious metals have been performing poorly. Gold was at $1,900+ back in 2011 and at the moment of writing, it’s at less than $1,400. Silver fell even more percentage-wise compared to the highs.

In my opinion, lots of gold investors made a huge mistake: they didn’t understand that at such prices, precious metals are risk assets and not safe havens.

When Trying to Save a Buck Makes Sense and When It Doesn’t

Posted on 05 June 2013 by Andrei

I created a brand for myself as the #1 cheap bastard in the domaining world 🙂

I always write about coupons, good deals and so on because in my opinion, being a cheap bastard pays off in the long run. But trying to save a buck doesn’t always make sense, so I decided to write a post about these distinctions.

The Euro Is RIDICULOUSLY Overvalued!

Posted on 03 June 2013 by Andrei

Right now, it’s close to the 1.31 area compared to the dollar. Absolutely ridiculous.

An overvalued Euro is a nightmare for the brick and mortar economy as well as for the online world, I’m sure European domainers and webmasters will agree with me.

A Blog Is NOT a Democracy

Posted on 26 May 2013 by Andrei

Personally, I publish pretty much all comments aside from obvious spam messages and stuff like that. Some people are more strict when it comes to moderating comments and you know what, it’s their right to do that.

A blog is someone’s private property.
