Being Old School – Not Necessarily a Bad Thing

Posted on 01 July 2013 by Andrei

It’s kind of embarrassing but I’ll go ahead and admit it: I’m probably the only person in the world who takes his mouse + keyboard with him when traveling. Don’t know about everyone else but I just can’t be productive enough on a laptop/tablet/smartphone/whatever.

Those are great for things like simply replying to emails here and there but in my case, even when I travel, there’s lots of work that needs to be done.

I own DomainingServers.com, so I constantly have to check all sorts of stuff to make sure things are running smoothly.

I run Articles.biz and have to always keep in touch with customers as well as writers and doing everything on a smartphone for example would take waaaaaaaaay too long.

… and so on.

I also invest in domains and yes, I admit that if I were only a domainer and not a business owner as well, it might be possibly to get rid of the keyboard + mouse and maybe even get rid of the laptop altogether.

But as it is, I just don’t understand how someone could handle so many things in a productive manner without a decent mouse + keyboard. I mean come on, what you have on a laptop is a bad joke if you’re serious about getting work done in my opinion.

The purpose of this post is that even for someone like me (who owns a hosting business among other things… doesn’t get much more hi-tech than that haha), being old-school is the only way to remain reasonably productive.

Gadgets/smartphones/whatever are great and everything but at least for the time being, they still have their limitations.
