Did You Register Any .Investments, .Fund, .Tax, .Cash or .Haus Domains?

Posted on 20 August 2014 by Andrei

Only Dot Investments caught my attention but the registry has chosen a registration fee that’s let’s say on the high side (you can get a dot com for 10 years at that price) and as a domainer, I for one don’t see enough upside.

I Think Most New gTLDs Will Be Profitable

Posted on 14 August 2014 by Andrei

… but that in pretty much all cases, “barely profitable” will be the appropriate term and that’s not exactly a good thing given how high the expectations were.

Did You Register Any .Care, .Clinic, .Dental or .Surgery Domains?

Posted on 13 August 2014 by Andrei

4 new gTLDs entered the General Availability phase today and while I was moderately interested in three of them (Dot Care, Dot Clinic and Dot Surgery), I ended up not registering anything.

Attacking Dot Com Is Not a Viable Marketing Strategy

Posted on 12 August 2014 by Andrei

I found out about the fact that Donuts published a post on their official blog with the title “The Importance of Semantics and Affinity, and the Meaninglessness of .COM” over at OnlineDomain a few moments ago.

Quite frankly, this marketing strategy leaves me scratching my head and I’ll try to explain why.
