Almost everyone is talking about the Minds+Machines ad that said dot com is dead, without understanding that what they’re doing is marketing 101 and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that.
Their ad can be considered click bait and it also ended up being a good example of link bait. Let me explain.

You probably noticed that GoDaddy is promoting new gTLDs pretty aggressively and you probably also noticed that in the past, they’ve shown somewhat of an affinity towards alternative TLDs.
A good example would be the two superbowl ads everyone saw not so long after dot co went live: one was the GoDaddy ad we were all used to and one was an ad that had pitching dot co as its main goal.

One of the biggest differences between domainers (or I’d say investors in general) who do well and domainers who don’t is the fact that those who do well are willing to change their opinion when they come across facts which prove that they were wrong.
They swallow their pride, admit they were wrong and change/calibrate their strategy accordingly.

Pretty interesting Cyber Monday deals over at NameCheap, thought you guys would find some of them useful. Basically, they have a different deal each hour. Some of them such as registrations at $0.98 or transfers at $0.98 are great, some of them (such as a 50% ssl certificate discount) are interesting and others not so much.
