Warez.com – Sold for $47,000 at NameJet

Posted on 12 July 2011 by Andrei

The Warez.com auction ended a few moments ago over at NameJet, there were 402 bidders involved and after 453 bids, the sales price ended up being $47,000.

What do you think the buyer should do with the domain in order to avoid legal issues?

As other people have mentioned, there are ways to monetize this domain’s traffic without breaking the law but as the owner of Warez.com, you need to understand that you’re skating on thin ice and act accordingly.

Without any crackdowns by the us govt this would be a very safe buy but now I dunno. They could take it away and you have no recourse.

@Gnanes: running such a forum and staying out of trouble would be pretty much impossible because we’re talking about user-generated content and no matter how hard you try to keep things organized, certain people will end up sharing illegal stuff and bam… you’re out 🙂

An fascinating dialogue is value comment. I feel that you need to write extra on this topic, it may not be a taboo subject but generally persons are not sufficient to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
