Running a Domain Sales Newsletter Is Fascinating

Posted on 17 September 2015 by Andrei

On Monday, I sent the usual domain sales email to my newsletter subscribers and it contained a huge number of LLLL dot coms, 162 (yes, one hundred and sixty two).

There was quite a bit of interest, which is to be expected, since saying that short domains are hot would be the understatement of the century.

Some people made offers, some people straight up bought domains.

The fascinating thing is that I have had one domain that had five buyers ready to buy it.

It was the only domain which received interest from more than one buyer and it had five people ready to reach for their wallets 🙂

This makes one thing perfectly clear: domainers have an eye for bargains and whenever inventory is underpriced, they’ll line up with their wallets ready.

Out of the list of 162 LLLLs, one of them was a screaming bargain and needless to say, the five domainers I mentioned identified it.

This is why I encourage sellers to price their inventory aggressively.

I have a lot of people on my list with bank accounts and wallets full of cash. If they come across good prices, they’re quick to buy. This is what domainers who want to generate liquidity have to understand: the money is there but in order to sell to other domainers, you have to leave upside on the table.

Another thing that’s just as clear is that almost everyone loves short domains these days.

If you guys have short domains (LLLs, NNNs, NNNNs, LLLLs and so on) and want to submit them for Monday’s newsletter, shoot me an email at Buyers are hungry for this type of inventory but this doesn’t mean you can go overboard with prices. Since my commission is only 5%, it won’t affect your margins all that much but in return, I do expect your price expectations to be reasonable.

I’ve started this newsletter as an experiment, without knowing what to expect, and it’s clear to me at this point that there’s gold in them thar hills 🙂

People also seem to like my case studies and the information I provide about the lessons I’m learning, so all in all, I’m very happy I embarked on this journey.

Send me good inventory (not just short domains, other domain categories are also welcome) priced to sell by shooting me an email ( and I’ll get you the liquidity you need.
