Will You Renew Your Dot Co Domain(s)?

Posted on 09 July 2011 by Andrei

Through this blog post, I want to ask you a simple question: will you renew your dot co domain or domains? If possible, please mention how many you currently own and how many you will renew. Or if you simply want to post a percentage (in other words something along the lines of “I’ll renew x% of my dot co domains”), no problem.

Oh and, of course, some of you will probably transfer dot co domains to a new registrar in order to take advantage of various special offers. Feel free to mention the coupon you will be using or the special deals your registrar of choice has agreed to put on the table.

I have xxx .co`s. I will renew about 30% of them.
I drop most mainly because of renewal price.

I didn’t buy any so I guess my decision wont be hard heh.

    Yes all my LLL.co

  8. Osy Says:

Already renewed the ones I had (about 10) and recently acquired three one-word .COs. I still believe in this extension and think it success is ahead.

i have around 20 .co names and i ll keep only the LLL.cos and nnn.cos and drop others due to high renewal charges.

  11. RAYY.co Says:

    I have 188 .co names.

Will renew 95% of .co , will drop some bad ones…

My renewal will start on Jan 2012, because I started collecting on Jan 2011, not on landrush period.

I still think .CO is better than .net…that’s me…

    I have 300+ .com domains

Yes I will when you get 4 five figure offers for the names I own you keep them.

I think that .CO is far superior than anything that will possibly come out of the upcoming gTLD fiasco. It was a Pandora’s Box which ICANN should never have opened.

I predict that the new gTLD introduction will be a huge .Bomb and the existing TLDs (definitely.COM and maybe .CO — because of it’s squatting potential) will among the only ones still standing. In fact, I think these two extentions will actually go up in value after the world suddenly realizes that, while there are now technically an infinite number of domains, there is only one (maybe 2) TLDs that are actually in demand by companies that want to be taken seriously.

  14. Richard Says:

I have a single Spanish keyword that I intend on renewing.

  15. Domain Report Says:

I have less than 10 and plan to renew them all. I bought them near the beginning of landrush when they were freely available (not in the reserve/pre-auctions period). I was careful in what I regged because I knew the renewals would come.

.co is probably better than a lot of the new gtld’s to come, except for maybe .web

    @Domain Report

“….co is probably better than a lot of the new gtld’s to come, except for maybe .web…”

I tend to agree with you.
All gTLDs can be confusing…even on good generic gTLD such as .sport .business etc…because there are too long word for .extension…won’t be as good as short .CO extension.
.CO and .com are the best options for all business…forget the other gTLDs…

If you need extra features, it may be worth looking around but if you just want a simple domain with DNS/email forwarding etc and plenty of add on features, stick with GoDaddy, they are competitivley priced and do the job quite well.
