Dragon Dictation Is Awesome

Posted on 29 July 2015 by Andrei

To promote the book I will be launching soon, I will be writing lots and lots of guest posts on websites which are not related to investing in domains. I already have 30 to 40 guest posts and more than half of them have been written using the Dragon Dictation iPhone app.

One day, I decided to try it on for size just to see what happens. I’m not 100% sure if it was free or paid but I think it cost me about two euros. Again, I’m not 100% certain. My expectations weren’t high. However, the fact that I am writing this post now should make it clear just how impressed I am with the performance of the app.

Today’s post has been written using the app in question and I have to say, it is remarkably accurate. Yes, it does occasionally miss words, especially words with a tricky pronunciation but all in all, it is unbelievably accurate.

I live in a reasonably big city and therefore have to spend quite a bit of time in traffic. Instead of simply wasting time or listening to music, I can now actually do something productive.

I usually write or should I say dictate at least one guest post per day and it all adds up.

I for one use it to write guest posts but perhaps you guys will do something else with it. The bottom line is that this app is something I definitely recommend. To say that I am impressed would be an understatement. Despite the fact that I have been earning a living on the Internet for many years, I’m still more reluctant than most of my peers when it comes to embracing new technology. I have to admit, this is a mistake and when realizing just how useful Dragon dictation is, I can’t help but feel frustrated by the fact that I haven’t been using it sooner. Download it, use it, thank me later.

Do you use an external microphone or just the built in iPhone mic?

    Any problems with background noises?

@Edward: just the iPhone mic. I use it when I’m stuck in traffic and it works ok, haven’t really tested it all that much elsewhere (would be an interesting experiment to see how it works in an environment with high background noise levels).
