Don’t Reply. Just Don’t.

Occasionally, when you’re selling something (not just domains) and the other party doesn’t agree with the price you quoted (for example), he or she ends up resorting to insults. I run online businesses, I invest in domains so as a domainer as well as an entrepreneur, I often have to deal with assholes.

If you decide to live in the desert, away from civilization, then yes: you’ll avoid assholes.

But if not, then it’s only a matter of time until you come across one.

Here’s a word of advice when it comes to let’s call them Internet assholes: don’t reply, just don’t.

Ok, I get it, you’re only human and whenever an end user/customer/whatever is acting like an idiot, you’re naturally tempted to reply.

I’m tempted to reply as well but let’s face it: there’s nothing in it for you.

Just be polite, end the conversation right there and move on.

Some people just aren’t reasonable and wasting your time on a useless back and forth email exchange is a mistake. The day only has 24 hours and spending even a fraction of those 24 hours arguing with a jerk isn’t worth it.

If we have mutual respect as the foundation of our potential business relationship, then we’ll work something out and find a way to generate win-win situations.

If not, then I’ll just click on that tiny “x” located on the right extremity of the tab… too bad we don’t have one of those in real life as well 🙂
