I’ve noticed this for several months: I transfer a domain from its current registrar to GoDaddy but after the transfer has been finalized, the whois info isn’t updated. In other words, the domain keeps the old whois info.
This doesn’t make sense.
Let’s assume you buy a domain from someone and transfer it from his registrar to GoDaddy.
That domain will end up in your GoDaddy account… with the whois info of another person.
At first, I thought this is simply something GoDaddy will fix soon-ish but months went by and it seems the error still hasn’t been fixed.
I like GoDaddy but this bug is really annoying, please fix it already!

Long overdue article. I’m surprised others haven’t brought this up before or maybe they have.

Perhaps Go Daddy does this so that the new owner will have the opportunity to use privacy.

Godaddy if you offer domainers free privacy you will stop losing tens of thousands of domains per month to uniregistry, dynadot, name, epik etc.

I got an email stating my domain 33fit.com was renewed for 9 years and charged 136.53.
So I called Go-daddy and informed them I did not make this transaction.
They said the only way to refund was to cancel the domain, which I did not want to do, I only had the domain for 3 months.
Be careful of godaddy they will steal your domain.
