One Sale Per End User?

Posted on 15 January 2014 by Andrei

Lots of domainers make the mistake of thinking their relationship with an end user is over after just one sale. I disagree.

In my opinion, taking things one step further is the best approach. After the sale is finalized, I’d recommend always keeping your eyes open for other domains the end user in question might like.

You’re Only Human

Posted on 14 January 2014 by Andrei

When you don’t have to answer to a boss (since you *are* the boss), you basically have complete freedom. I’m a very ambitious guy and this is a double edged sword in my case, since I tend to sometimes forget that I’m only human.

That’s a huge mistake and a surefire way to burn yourself out. If you put your body through more than it can handle, I assure you there will be a price to pay. If not today, then maybe tomorrow… with interest 🙂

Which New gTLDs Are Domainer Friendly?

Posted on 13 January 2014 by Andrei

This is probably *the* most important question you should be asking yourself when it comes to new gTLDs, yet it doesn’t receive the exposure it deserves in my opinion.

Sure, other questions are important as well, for example whether or not new gTLDs will gain traction. But unfortunately, there’s no way to answer it with 100% certainty at this point, time will tell.

Working Hard vs. Working Smart

Posted on 12 January 2014 by Andrei

I’ve seen both worlds, so to speak, so I think I’m in a reasonably good position to address this issue.

Now I’m a hard worker, always was and always will be. However, as time passed, I ended up understanding that working hard isn’t enough, not by a long shot.

Guest Posting on DomainingTips.com – One More “Regular” Wanted

Posted on 09 January 2014 by Andrei

I like Matthew Crowder’s guest posts, I’m sure my readers feel the same way and all in all, I’m happy with the results of my guest blogging experiment thus far.

Therefore, I’m thinking about accepting one more “regular” and the guidelines haven’t changed:

How Much Upside?

Posted on 08 January 2014 by Andrei

Now on the one hand, it’s obviously better to buy one good domain than 10 mediocre ones. I’m pretty sure most people agree, no need to explain why. On the other hand though, it it also better to buy one amazing domain than 10 good ones?

What If the Domain Market Would Stop Working for 5 Years?

Posted on 07 January 2014 by Andrei

Today, I’d like to ask you to imagine the following scenario: what if there would be a let’s say 5 year ban on domain sales? In other words, if you were not allowed to sell your domains to anyone (domainer or end user, doesn’t matter) as of today for 5 years?

What About Liquidity?

Posted on 05 January 2014 by Andrei

Most new domainers seem to underestimate the importance of liquidity and the irony of it all is that it’s exactly them who should be paying attention to this aspect.

Why?

Let me try to explain.

The State of the Reseller Market

Posted on 03 January 2014 by Andrei

This is of course just an opinion but since I’ve been following the reseller market (or the domainer to domainer market, as it can also be called) for many years, I’m in a reasonably good position to share my 2 cents and start the year with an assessment.

My Goals for 2014

Posted on 01 January 2014 by Andrei

The more time passes, the more I understand just how unpredictable our world can be. Still, setting some goals for 2014 makes sense, even if only as a way of doing some brainstorming to figure out what my priorities are at the moment of writing.

Here it goes:
