I’ve noticed a few similar situations before and all I can say is this: take a close look at the domain before placing a bid or you might just end up winning a typo like Investor.com (Lnvestor.com, NOT investor.com) and all of a sudden realize that the “deal of a lifetime” was simply an embarrassing mistake.

The third Domain Madness auction will end in about 15 hours. The two most active individual auctions, 11 bids each at the moment of writing, seem to be GasDeals.com and BroadbandProviders.com. If you want to place a bid or analyze the inventory Mike and his team are putting on the table, click HERE.

Yep, only 2 sets (8 auctions/set) per month as of today, top dollar domains priced to sell exclusively (Intentions.com, Transistors.net, N.pe, IIO.net, Forum.im, BusinessWeblog.com, PingPong.mx and WeddingArbors.com). Why?
Simply because there’s no way I would have been able to put ~250 top dollar domains priced to sell on the table each month at 8 auctions per day but can definitely do just that with only 16 spots available each month (2 batches of 8 auctions per month, the first set of 8 auctions will end on the first Monday of each month at 2 PM EST from now on and the second one will end on the third Monday of each month at 2 PM EST – for example, the 8 auctions featured on Auctionpus.com at the moment of writing will end on the 18th of April at 2 PM EST).

33 out of 63 domains have been sold for a grand total of $196,138 and given the fact that over 50% of their inventory has been sold, I’ll go ahead and call the auction a success (this auction didn’t have a “blockbuster” sale, which is why the grand total isn’t huge but they moved over 50% of their inventory and deserve credit for approaching the market with domains priced to sell IMO).

Lots of people think that bringing end users to live domaining auctions is the way to go but I personally disagree. In my opinion, it’d be a flawed business model and this approach simply doesn’t make economic sense (waaaaay too much work for the 10% – 20% that auction houses would make).
