Lots of people don’t like to make predictions but when it comes to this issue, I’m 99.9% sure that mine will end up being accurate. So, what will ultimately replace parking for non-typo domains? Direct advertising? Lead generation platforms? Cost per sale solutions? A mass development program that’s actually SCALABLE? Nope, nope, nope and NOPE! Let’s get right down to business, here’s the solution that will (in my opinion) end up replacing parking for non-typo domains:
(Drumroll) Domain Sales!
There ya go. Were you expecting something incredibly complex? Maybe something like artificial intelligence programmed to optimize your portfolio? Sorry to disappoint you.
A lot of times, the solution is right there in front of us and let’s face it: this is our #1 role in the ecosystem, SELLING domains to end users who can take them to the next level.
You, as a domainer, make money by selling inventory and the end user makes money by turning the domain(s) he or she bought into a business, win-win all the way.
Do You Focus on Sales?
It never ceases to amaze me how most domainers don’t optimize for SALES. Do I really have to explain what I mean by this? I hope you can all agree with me that it’s a matter of common sense:
1) Do you list your domains for sale on the major platforms (I mean come on, only a handful exist haha)?
2) Do you at least have a “for sale” link that isn’t hidden at the very bottom of your parking page?
3) What’s your end user approach? Do you decide how much to charge (for example) based on a common sense system or is it all random in your case?
The list could go on and on, what do you think? Will domainers end up understanding that focusing on sales is the only reasonable long-term approach for non-typo domains?

I agree with that 100%.
I think it is already happening out of necessity. 🙂
