Everyone knows that I run quite a few businesses but at this point, what I don’t like is that they depend way too much on me. Sure, I love investing time in my projects but that doesn’t change the fact that at a certain point, you as the owner need to limit yourself to making important decisions and that’s it.
You know, vision vs. execution and all that good stuff.
As a result, my long-term goal should be obvious: owning businesses that run themselves. And if you’re reading this, I’d encourage you to choose a similar long-term goal.
On a slightly different note, I’ll refer to the domaining industry for a moment. Now as a domainer, you’re in a great position to work on achieving such a goal. Rick Schwartz is on the right track with his partnership concept in my opinion.
Maybe someone wants your domain but can’t afford a “100% cash” deal. No problem, then what about a “cash + ownership” arrangement?
The Web is still in its infancy and even though the economy is in pretty bad shape, industries such as ours are on an unstoppable long-term upward spiral. Let’s make some money!
