Some people don’t sell unless they genuinely receive an offer they can’t say no to, nothing wrong with that. However, in my opinion, it isn’t the optimal approach for most domainers due to budget-related constraints.
Sure, if you have a *lot* of capital and no liquidity-related problems, then you’re not a motivated seller.
In other words, you can afford to buy more domains without selling existing inventory.
A great position to be in for sure.
But if you’re not in that position (and realistically speaking, most domainers aren’t), selling is the only option that gives you the liquidity needed for whatever you have in mind.
Maybe you have to invest in one of your other projects.
Maybe you need $ for something else.
Doesn’t matter what you need money for, the bottom line is that if you’re not sitting on a lot of capital, you’re definitely considerably more motivated than someone who never experiences liquidity-related issues.
To sell or not to sell?
If you can afford to, don’t sell. Again, great position to be in.
But realistically speaking, most of us aren’t in that position and therefore, it might be a good idea to say yes to an offer that makes sense for both parties even if the return isn’t unbelievably high.
