Should Domainers Launch Offline Projects?

Posted on 27 May 2013 by Andrei

Lots of domainers/entrepreneurs have no experience with offline projects whatsoever, so they’re obviously tempted to launch at least one even if only to see what it’s like.

If you’re in that situation as well, should you start an offline business?

The short answer, in my opinion, is “no”.

A longer answer would be: think it over again, then think it over one more time.

If you only have experience with online projects, ask yourself: if there *really* nothing better for you to do online?

If you’ve exhausted all online possibilities and are 100% sure there are no other online projects worth pursuing at this point then yes, I guess dabbling in the offline world *might* make sense but again, don’t make decisions before giving it some serious thought.

If you already have lots of offline experience under your belt then the situation is completely different and I won’t even try to give you any advice since you’re in a far better position than me to figure out what works best for you.

This post isn’t addressed to those who already have an offline business or had one in the past.

It’s addressed to those who have no offline experience whatsoever and I just wanted to make it clear that just like someone who has no online business experience will have a hard time making the transition from offline to online, you will also have a hard time making the transition from online to offline.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂
