OneMinuteEconomics.com Case Study – Part 11 (1,000+ Subscribers!)

Posted on 02 August 2016 by Andrei

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve written an update about my One Minute Economics YouTube channel and I’m pleased to say that the channel now has more than 1,000 subscribers (about 1,200 at the moment of writing) 🙂

At this point, I try to stick to a bi-weekly posting schedule by publishing one video on Tuesday (I’ve actually published my most recent one, about shadow banking, a few seconds ago) and one on Saturday.

Easier said than done haha.

Running the channel involves a lot of work but I’m very happy that it’s enabling me to have a voice. Kind of like DomainingTips.

By having 1,200 subscribers, I know that whenever I publish a video, those ~1,200 people will know and it’s an awesome feeling.

Just like with DomainingTips, I know that if I have something to say about the industry, a lot of people will find out.

The channel currently makes $0 because I’ve disabled ads altogether. They wouldn’t make me that much money anyway and for short videos, they’re just waaaay too annoying in my opinion.

I do however hope that once my book goes live (shoot me an email at andrei@domainingtips.com if you’d like a free copy, want to give a few more free copies to people who can finish at least 50 pages or so within 10 days and give me their honest opinion about the book), the channel will end up helping me generate book sales. YouTube publishers can indeed simply make money by enabling ads but realistically speaking, the real money is made by selling merchandise. Anything from branded shirts/mugs to books in my case.

Will be interesting to see how things will evolve.
