Next Week’s New gTLD Launches

Posted on 27 July 2014 by Andrei

If I’m not mistaken, 4 new gTLDs will enter the General Availability phase next week and the Early Access Program will start for another 4 extensions.

As always, please take everything I say with a grain of salt because since most new gTLDs are extremely poorly promoted, I might have missed some. I do my best to offer decent information but don’t rely exclusively on my posts, do your own research as well.

First of all, here are the new gTLDs for which the General Availability phase will start next week:

Dot Reisen (Reisen = “trips” in German)
Dot Town
Dot Toys
Dot University

In all 4 cases, the GA phase will start on Wednesday, the 30th of July.

And here are the new gTLDs for which the Early Access Program will start next week:

Dot Fail
Dot Financial
Dot Limited
Dot WTF

In all 4 cases, the EAP will start on Wednesday, the 30th of July.

As most of you know, the Early Access Program is the phase which precedes the General Availability stage for Donuts new gTLDs.

During the first seven days of the EAP phase, you are able to buy domains but at a higher price, a price which is gradually lowered. The sooner you want to register a domain during the EAP phase, the higher the price will be.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no other new gTLDs for which the General Availability or EAP/Landrush (not all registry operators have the same policy: for example, there is an Early Access Program for Donuts extensions, other registry operators chose a traditional landrush, some have skipped such phases altogether and so on) phase will start next week but as mentioned at the beginning of this post: I’m not 100% sure, so do your own due diligence as well.
