I’m sure you’re surprised to see a case study post on a Tuesday but I thought I’d try an interesting experiment by selling a CHIP as well as a regular LLLL through no reserve NamePros auctions. I’ve sold regular LLLLs like this before but never chips. Not sure if this has ever been tried before to be honest but anyway, I’ve decided to give it a go.
Here’s the full text of the newsletter:
“I usually only send newsletters on Monday but I’m sending one today as an experiment because for the first time, I’m selling a Chinese Premium LLLL.com at no reserve over at the NamePros forum.
To go to the auction, use the link below:

The domain will be sold to the highest bidder once there are no bids for 48 hours.
I’m also selling a regular LLLL.com, a very nice one too. Here is the auction link:

I’ve sold regular LLLLs through NamePros no reserve auctions before but never a Chinese Premium domain. Quite frankly, I don’t recall ever seeing a chip sold like this on NamePros.
Why NamePros?
Well, mainly because I don’t have to pay any commissions.
It’s basically a win-win situation:
1) I win because I don’t have to pay any commissions
2) The buyer wins because he will get the domain cheaper than on other venues
Should be an interesting experiment, just thought I’d let you guys know.
All the best,
Andrei”
