Study after study confirms that some people still don’t understand just how important it is to choose a very strong password. The Average Joe who doesn’t earn a living online at least has an excuse, those of you who are reading this blog post don’t.
In case you don’t know what constitutes a strong password, here are a few tips:
1) avoid dictionary words
2) avoid passwords that contain your username or a part of your username
3) a strong password shouldn’t just contain letters
4) when choosing numbers for your password, avoid sequences like 123
… and so on, I’m sure you understand the main principles.
Be honest: do all of your passwords currently respect at least the 4 guidelines I shared?
I hope so but they probably don’t.
If they don’t, then there’s no time like the present to choose a strong password: just make sure you don’t forget it 🙂
