Even though this is a domaining blog, I’m sure most of you guys own at least one or two websites. Everyone knows that backups are important but how many people actually practice what they preach? I was actually just backing up data from a bunch of servers yesterday when I decided to ask this question on my blog, here it is again: when’s the last time you backed up your data?

Monthly for me is good if a site doesn’t have constantly new content on it.If it is a site like your blog with fresh content often I would say weekly.

Servers are backed up daily. Offices PC’s critical files backed up daily and then monthly full images backed up of every hard drive. I also backup several ultra critical files with pass codes, domain data, etc. to encrypted portable flash drives that go with me wherever I go in a small wallet size security pouch. My stringent backup routine is probably overkill but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Mostly documents…When backing up data on a weekly basis, is it better to delete first, then transfer or simply sweep info over and answer yes to “there already is a document named…do you want to replace?” Thanks for your help.Thanks….
