Time for Another Case Study: Affiliate Marketers Dot Com

Posted on 01 April 2012 by Andrei

I visit Domaining.com each day and last year, I asked myself: why don’t we have a “Domaining.com” for affiliate marketers? In my opinion, Domaining.com displays content a LOT better than the aggregator that is currently being used by affiliate marketers (AffBuzz.com, my main competitor), so I decided to launch Affiliate Marketers Dot Com.

Take a look at AffiliateMarketers.com, take a look at AffBuzz.com and you will see what I mean: two completely different ways of displaying content. AffBuzz.com uses the AllTop approach and AffiliateMarketers.com uses the Domaining.com approach that most of you are already familiar with.

As you can see, there are 4 important sections: a “featured headlines” section just like the one you’re used to seeing on Domaining.com and three columns that I’ll describe below even though I’m sure most of you already figured out what they represent if you visited the site.

Through the first column, I’m displaying headlines from the most popular affiliate marketing blogs, just like Domaining.com does with domaining blogs.

Through the second one, I am displaying the top offer from each network I partnered up with. Just one offer because I want AffiliateMarketers.com to have a very good “noise to signal” ratio. Each network has a handful of offers that make it stand out and I want to share those offers. My programmer created an interface through which each network can keep its section updated, the entire process is very simple and hassle-free.

And, finally, the third column contains tweeets from the industry’s most important networks. I’m pretty sure I added all of the important ones but I said “most” to play it safe 🙂

That’s pretty much it, I’ll start promoting AffiliateMarketers.com as of next week, should be an interesting experiment. I love the Domaining.com approach and chose it because in my opinion, the Domaining.com way of displaying content makes AffiliateMarketers.com an extremely efficient tool: dropping by each day and analyzing the most recent headlines takes less than a minute and I’m sure my visitors will appreciate that.
