I’ve just finished publishing a one minute video (HERE it is) through which I’ve analyzed the 1st Trump-Clinton debate from an economic perspective (if you find it useful, I’d really appreciate it if you could share it with others through facebook or other methods).
Naturally, I had to watch the entire debate carefully in order to put together a good video and I have to say… my IQ dropped at least 5 points after watching the debate.
In my opinion, the debate has been extremely disappointing. They’ve spent about as much time discussing economics as they’ve spent talking about tabloid-type issues such as Obama’s birth certificate. Interest rates are at record-low levels, central banks are pumping unprecedented amounts of liquidity into the system, the global economy is dealing with unbelievably complex problems… yet politicians still prefer tabloid-ish topics. Go figure.
I have to say, I’m really not thrilled about these two candidates.
My US friends will have a tough and unpleasant decision to make. One candidate is a corrupt as-mainstream-as-they-get politician who has zero credibility when talking about what needs to be done because she has been in high-end politics for a loooooooooooong time… without spectacular results. The other candidate is a crazy old guy with a proven history of shady business practices and who contradicted himself a gazillion times so far. He’s not mainstream but he’s batshit crazy… and not in a good/funny “oh… you’re batshit crazy haha” way but in a really, really bad way.
Wow, just wow!
This post won’t contain a conclusion because I for one don’t have one. I’m still kinda-sorta hoping this is all a bad dream or better yet, a prank and that eventually, someone will come and say “You’ve been pranked, here are the deal candidates” 🙂

Try not to engage in political discussions with biz dealings.
However, I pretty much agree with what you say here. 🙂
