Auctions, Auctions, Auctions

It’s time to analyze Domain Fest Global/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Las Vegas and today, I’d like to let my readers do all of the talking. What do you guys think about the three live auctions (the Moniker low and no reserve auction, the Moniker premium auction and Rick Latona’s live auction) and about live auctions in general?

A buyer’s market, that’s for sure. Those with cashflow have a lot of buying opportunities.

Some bargains, some good deals for sellers too. Overall fairly balanced and it’s good that they cashed in over a million together. The only thing I don’t like is that the online bidding is not implemented as good as it should be.

There will be a lot of conferences this year, shows me that domaining is getting more and more serious. There is however one area that needs some improvements, domain selections. Far too many quality domains but with very high reserves are accepted. Better to limit it to 50 domains than accept 100 domains out of which over 50% will not sell due to high reserves.

Too bad it’s very hard to find end users in time when doing these auctions, only domain investor to main investor sales.

I meant domain investors to domain investors, not domain investors to main investors hehe

I think there were more great deals on good domains in this auction than I have ever seen.

I understand that because CustomerService.com didn’t sell at the recent Las Vegas TRAFFIC auction, it will be up for auction again (with a lower reserve) at the TRAFFIC conference in Milan, Italy in late April.
