… not just mine.
I’m sure the other brokers will agree that one of the most frustrating aspects related to running a newsletter is doing your best to make it clear what kind of names you’re after, only to receive submissions from people who clearly didn’t take the time to read any of your guidelines.
Today, I will try to write an easy-to-understand two-step guide.
Step 1) Is the answer to any of the questions below “yes?” If so, don’t submit the domain you had in mind.
Question 1) Is it a new gTLD which contains more than one word?
Question 2) If it’s a one-word new gTLD domain, would you say it’s one of the top 100 domains for that particular extension?
Question 3) Is it a legacy TLD (com/net/org/info/etc.) which contains more than one word and isn’t a super hot commercially viable term (because exceptions such as UsedCars.net need to be taken into consideration)?
Question 4) Is it a dot com which contains more than three words?
Question 5) Would you be giddy with excitement if someone were to buy it? (If so, it means your price expectations are too high)
Step 2) Is the answer to all of the questions above “no?” Then go ahead and submit the name.
I could have added more questions or made them a bit more complex but I’d rather keep things simple.
I know it’s possible to punch holes in the questions and give me individual examples of domains which would be a decent fit despite one of the answers being “yes” in their case… I get that but despite the “collateral damage” that I agree is there, the life of all brokers would be much, much easier if domainers would read this post before submitting names 🙂

Andrei,
You look like a fool posting this after some of the names you had on your list last week.
Did militaryschoolsforboys.com sell?
What about laptopsforcollegestudents.com ?
financialaidforcollege.ORG hope it’s still up for grabs…

@Peter Lim: I’ve written a post about individual submissions and you’re cherry picking names from a portfolio of 290 domains…
