Nowadays, I almost always price domains because that way, I can cut through all of the bs and get right to the point.
A lot of domainers invite the other party to make an offer and I understand that approach as well. I mean you never know, the other party could surprise you and make an initial offer that’s even more substantial than the most optimistic price you could have charged.
Realistically speaking though, that probably won’t happen.
On the contrary, the other party will most likely submit a lowball offer or anyway, an offer he or she would consider an absolute bargain. That’s what usually happens and it makes sense.
The seller wants to obtain the best possible price, the buyer wants the best possible bargain.
In the past, I used the “make me an offer” approach more frequently but nowadays, I prefer to cut to the chase by quoting a price right off the bat.
It’s the best approach for me but of course, your mileage may vary š
