Most people hate being exposed to new/different ideas and prefer to simply listen to those which confirm their own opinions. If you earn a living online, that’s a huge mistake in my opinion. I’m not saying you should adopt every new idea someone throws at you, I’m simply saying you should at least listen.

On the Internet, you’re constantly communicating with people from all continents.

A few hundred years ago, most individuals were blissfully ignorant when it comes to different perspectives.

Sure, there were books but only a small percentage of the world’s population used to read, everyone else was busy trying to survive or didn’t have access to them.

For the most part, the average Joe had no idea what was happening outside his/her community.

As time passed and more people gained access to means of information, this gradually changed.

The printing press represented a huge milestone.

The appearance of radio/TV was another extremely important change and the Internet took everything to a new level.

Having access to the things we take for granted (radio/TV/Internet) is a privilege, yet most people don’t take advantage of it and prefer to remain ignorant. They only listen to radio/TV shows that say things which confirm their opinions, they only visit websites which contain content that confirms their opinions.

In other words, they’re afraid of being exposed to new ideas.

Don’t make that mistake because as a domainer or entrepreneur, an “I already know everything” attitude will cost you.

A few hundred years ago, people had an excuse. Today, you don’t 🙂
