… it seems that according to ExtremeTech.com, this might happen as a protest against SOPA. I have to admit, I’m pretty impressed. The online community is clearly against SOPA and people are taking action accordingly.

DomainNameWire.com Featured on TechCrunch Yesterday

Congrats Andrew! I was browsing TechCrunch and came across their article about Amazon’s potential plans for Casa.com, with DomainNameWire being credited as the source. It’s always nice to come across such posts and it should be obvious to anyone capable of rational thought that our entire industry benefits whenever something like this happens. One step a time, one post at a time, we need to do everything humanly possible to help everyone understand that the domaining industry has its place in the online ecosystem and is here to stay.

Google Does the Right Thing: Chrome Has Been Penalized

I’m pretty sure at least some of you know that Google has been receiving a lot of criticism lately because their ad agency Unruly Media basically bought links through their Google Chrome campaign, so the ad agency basically exactly what Google tells webmasters not to do. Well, it seems that the Google team did the right thing and as Matt Cutts explained, Chrome has been penalized. Among other things, it dropped from position #2 to position #50 for the term “browser”.

Sometimes, the $1.18 GoDaddy Coupons Work for Transfers!

I admit, I had no idea until I found out today and never tried this since the terms of each $1.18 coupon state that it won’t work for renewals and transfers. Well, it turns out these coupons sometimes do work for transfers as well.

CountingSheep.com Fetches $12,500 @ Sedo

The CountingSheep.com Sedo auction ended earlier today and the domain fetched $12,500. A pretty interesting domain and even if it’s not a product name dot com, it has obvious uses. There’s no doubt in my mind that it will eventually be turned into a site which helps people who have sleep problems.

Quick Tip: Internet-Savvy People Make Typos Too

Whenever you hear something like “I can’t believe someone bought Lnvestors.com thinking that it was Investors.com”, don’t assume that it can’t happen to you. It obviously won’t happen if you’re paying close attention but if you’re like me, you’re often thinking about a million things at any given point, so mistakes can and will occur.
