Special DreamHost Offer – A Year of Hosting for $9.24

Posted on 28 December 2009 by Andrei

DreamHost is not exactly one of the most reliable companies out there but at less than a buck per month ($0.77/month, unlimited domains), it’s a great “throwaway hosting” deal. The offer expires today, at 11:59 PM PST!

Head on over to DreamHost.com, use the coupon code “777” and you’re good to go. Again: don’t host important stuff there. Seriously, don’t. Use your DreamHost account for testing purposes or whatever but always keep in mind that you’re paying 77 cents/month, so you need to adjust your expectations accordingly 😉

Sounds really nice, they seem to also offer unlimited bandwidth. Will they actually offer this because it sounds too good to be true.

  2. Andrei Says:

Nah, it’s just a marketing gimmick. They reserve the right to kick you out if they consider that your websites are resource hogs. According to their terms:

“If your processes are adversely affecting server performance disproportionately DreamHost Web Hosting reserves the right to negotiate additional charges with the Customer and/or the discontinuation of the offending processes”

  3. Xdreamer Says:

Unlimited domains, that’s hard to decline. It should do the job for a few small sites, as long as they don’t have too much traffic. At least I think so, this is the cheapest hosting I’ve seen in a while.

  4. Mike Says:

Are you sure about this? How come you have exclusive news on this?
    This was news on 2006…

  5. Andrei Says:

@Mike: it’s their holiday special or whatever it’s called, they offer something like this each year. Their 2006 holiday special was news in 2006, just like their 2009 special is news in… you fill in the blanks 😉

  6. Andrei Says:

Oh and they might extend the offer until like Thursday or something (their “Hurry, sale ends…” message is also a marketing gimmick) but then again, they might not. If you want some cheap-ass hosting, just sign up, send 9 bucks their way and get it over with 😉

I use Dreamhost for multiple domains / projects. Customer serivce is (still) great. No problems with any of my websites but they are all small with less then 5k unique visitors per month.

  8. Nick Says:

I’m thinking about taking this offer later tonight when I have some time, they’re practically giving us hosting for free.

Can’t get past the last screen (where it should validate the credit card)

Tried 3 browsers and 2 Credit Cards, some result…

  10. Andrei Says:

@Mike: Weird, maybe it has something to do with this:

“New Customers Only. Not available in all regions.”

  11. Sarawan Says:

Well, the link took one to the standard homepage.

And here’s what the bottom of the page offers:

    “How much?

    Note the last clause.

Holiday credit cards could be a lot a lot more than pre-printed credit cards stuffed in envelopes with mailing labels applied. With some imagination and also the correct greeting card supplier, a greeting card can be a really special, greater high high quality present that projects organization professionalism as well as heartfelt wishes for that holiday season.

Either I’m not unique enough, or I simply have no concept the way to market professionally but I genuinely cannot obtain virtually any followers. I’ve taken a crack at following people to get a warm and friendly follow back, assists to some degree but it just appears everyone who does that desires the exact same thing as me, another person to go through their day-to-day drivel.
