Posted on 06 May 2010 by BillionDollarMedia

8 auctions, each and every day. Quality over quantity and in most if not all cases, we will let the market decide how much a domain is worth by going with NO RESERVES and a starting bid of just $1: stay tuned!

So this is the secret project you talked about on the forum hehehe! Waiting patiently, I wouldn’t mind submitting a domain or two.

Coming from you, it’s bound to be original and domain investing could use a breath of fresh air. Most fail to realize just how badly we need liquidity. If this site is a success, everyone will have to gain not just you.

So basically you are trying to replace the recently defunct bido.com ?

They used to only have a few selected domains each day, but changed it I think because there was not enough profit in doing it that way.

Your timing is excellent but be careful how you handle it. I used to like it when bido only listed one domain but it was not profitable for them. 8 auctions a day would be wonderful but it will be hard to make the site profitable for you with only 8 each day. Sedo and all the others make money because of quantity too. While it may not be what domainers want, it works for Sedo just fine. What you are trying to do now is listen to domainers and give them what they want, quality domains rather than a lot of filler and that’s nice of you. But can you make this site profitable for you?

  6. Xdreamer Says:

The website sounds exciting with especially the part about no reserves. That’s how an auction should be. If you have a domain with a reserve of 50000 which isn’t even worth 1000 then that’s not an auction anymore. You can do it!!

  7. Nick Says:

Any idea when it will be up?

  8. Daniel Dryzek Says:

Easier said than done :) But good luck! The key are good and great domains with low / no reserve. That simple, yet difficult.

  9. mrx Says:

Be prepared. I remember Bido going down for several weeks to deal with DOS attacks. If you have quality domains it will happen.

I wonder how long it will be before someone realizes that these are just a form of a pyramid scheme or illegal raffle and shuts them down?
