… only about 11 hours left (it starts at 3 PM Pacific time) and I have to say, I’m following several of these. Since I live in Europe, this means I’ll have to stay up quite late and I don’t really do this nowadays unless it’s genuinely worth it. The fact that I consider some of these auctions worth staying up for says a lot.
In the past, one of the main problems with conference auctions was the fact that it was really hard to find gems priced to sell. Sure, there were always amazing gems but the prices were so high that it was clear they wouldn’t sell. The Right of the Dot team really changed this state of affairs, these people know how to run auctions!

Really, really balanced inventory. I love it and respect what they did because I know how hard it is to convince domainers to price aggressively or even at no reserve. A lot of trust between the seller and the auction platform is required to for example convince someone to list a domain at no reserve. Especially if we’re talking about domains with a market value of 4 figures and up. If the auction flops and there aren’t enough eyeballs, you’re practically giving away inventory.
As someone who used to run a small auction site and who brokers domains every now and then, I have to say that the organizers deserve to be congratulated. This industry needs as much liquidity as it can get and people like them are just what the doctor ordered!
