I’m not saying you can’t succeed as a domainer with a “lone wolf” mentality but in my opinion, it’s not the optimal approach.

By keeping in touch with other domain investors, it’s only a matter of time until new doors will be opened.

Most of us are bright individuals but that shouldn’t make you think you know everything, communicating with others like you can be very productive. I exchange ideas with domainers from literally all continents and it’s a privilege to be able to communicate with people from so many different backgrounds.

But I want to give you one tip:

Don’t be “that guy” who wants to always be on the receiving end.

Be prepared to do others a favor, be prepared to always help someone and don’t think that the world owes you something. Nobody owes you anything, a business relationship needs to be built by both/all parties and therefore, you can’t always be on the receiving end. Doesn’t work that way.

The conclusion is that yes, networking is important for domainers. Maybe you’ll only exchange opinions, maybe you’ll exchange favors as well, who knows. If you have the right attitude and aren’t “that guy”, I’m sure you’ll do very well 🙂
