As a domainer and/or entrepreneur, I’m sure you’ve noticed this a lot: most companies do everything they can to attract new customers but often end up taking existing ones for granted. Something along the lines of “you’re already with us, so why bother giving you a good deal?”.
For example, in the hosting business to name one example I’m familiar with, it often works like this: companies have great deals for certain types of servers but existing customers don’t qualify for the special pricing, only new ones can take advantage of that offer.
In my opinion, that sucks.
That’s why yesterday, when I offered to analyze your portfolio free of charge (the offer is still valid btw) and mentioned that you have to be a DomainingServers.com customer to qualify, I made it clear that new customers (those who signed up after reading my post) as well as existing customers (those who were already on board) can take advantage of it.
Sure, it means more work for yours truly but as a business owner, building long-term relationships with customers is very important to me.
I always put myself in the position of an existing company: would *I* be upset if a great deal is made available to anyone but me?
Sure would.
This isn’t a domaining-related post but it’s something I’ve been meaning to write about for a fairly long time.
I’m an entrepreneur as well as a domainer and hope you’ll find my perspective interesting. Not all of my posts on DomainingTips are about domaining but I like to think that you can apply some of the ideas I’ve shared through each in a way that helps you as a domain investor.

Companies always seem to care about attracting new customers but they don’t seem to realize that theirs are potentially new customers of another company.
