According to Verisign, we have a 2.2% growth associated with 2011’s first quarter compared to 2010’s 4th quarter, with 4.5 million new domains.
There are over 108 million dot com + dot net domains at the moment of writing and when it comes to new registrations, we have a 2.7% increase compared to 2010’s 4th quarter. As far as dot com and dot net renewals are concerned, Q1 has brought a pretty decent growth, from 72.7% in Q4 to a respectable 73.8%.
The previously mentioned ~108 million domains have been analyzed, here are the usage conclusions: 21% of them are currently being used as one-page websites, 67% are currently being used as websites with more than one page and 12% aren’t being used at all.

incredible analysis. But i dont understand that how can they analysis ove 180 million websites. i think they have big research systems or working with google.
