Domainers are doomed
Since NamesCon 2018 the blogs and Namepros have been a washed with negative comments about the state of the industry. China crash, nGTLDs, poor auction results, Crypto coins sucking in dollars. A general malaise of depression.
I am much more optimistic because the underlying values are stronger than ever. Let’s take China

First of all, Happy 2018! 🙂
I’ve been pretty much MIA domain blogging-wise as of the end of September and do have to say, I’ve missed you guys! In 2018, I’ll do my best to articulate some thoughts once per month or so because despite domain blogging not being a stellar deal when it comes to the “energy invested / income generated” dimension, I like doing it and need my “fix” every once in a while haha. Hey guys,
My new book is *almost* ready for the spotlight!
However, I do want it to go through at least another round of editing and in the meantime, some feedback/opinions from you guys would be nice.
If you’d like a free copy, simply write a comment (and I’ll send an email to the email address you’ve used when writing the comment in question) or shoot me an email at oneminuteeconomics@gmail.com.

Once a year, I try to remind DomainingTips readers to back up their data. As someone who has a little bit of experience in the hosting industry, let me just say words can’t begin to describe how many problems/headaches can be avoided by simply backing up your data and doing it frequently enough.
My request for you guys is this: back up your data today, right after reading this post if possible.

People think it’s awesome that I get to earn a more than decent living working from home… and it is. But getting there is the tricky part and there are far more people who fail than there are success stories.
Why?

I’ve had a LinkedIn account for a long time but never really used it.
Always thought LinkedIn was for people who had “real” jobs or at least wore pants when working. 2-3 days ago however, I thought I’d give it a try and uploaded a profile pic, added a better description and so on. Furthermore, I checked out the section through which LinkedIn recommends people you should add and saw a LOT of familiar faces.

I dislike making predictions and want to make it clear this post isn’t one. Instead, think of it as the scenario I attribute the highest probability to. I may very well be wrong and in fact, actually hope I’ll be wrong.

Can’t believe it’s been over a month since I’ve posted on DomainingTips!
Been working my you-know-what off trying to finalize the launch preparations for my book (if you’d like a free copy and can commit to reading at least 15-20 pages within a week or so, shoot me an email at andrei@domainingtips.com) and my YouTube channel has sucked quite a bit of creative energy out of me (One Minute Economics now has over 2,500 subscribers btw, I’m publishing one minute videos twice a week these days: one on Tuesday and one on Saturday), it’s ridiculous how much stuff I have on my plate right now.

Happy 4th of July to all of my US readers!
I have to admit, I’ve never been into patriotic stuff all that much (mostly because I don’t understand expressions such as “I’m proud to be a citizen of /Insert Country Name/”… most people have simply been born in the country they currently live in, it’s not like they had any merit in the fact that they happened to be born there, I for one prefer to take pride in my own accomplishments) but have always respected the views of those who are.

A significant percentage of the people I interact with, both online and offline, are workaholics. The more time passes, the more people seem to be entrenched in the proverbial rat race and this got me thinking about domaining as well as the idea of making money online in general.
