“I might eventually develop it”
“I’m waiting for an offer I can’t refuse”
“I’m not in a hurry to sell”
If you’re an experienced domainer and have confidence in your strategies than sure, phrases like the above make sense. But if you’re a beginner for example, how do you know your strategy is viable in the first place?
In that case, even if you don’t necessarily *need* the money (maybe you have a job or another source of income), the monetary aspect of domaining is important because it validates a strategy or an approach.
If you’ve been domaining for x months or years, what do you have to show for it in terms of sales?
Your first sales as a domainer aren’t important because of the money part.
They’re important because they confirm that you did something right.
If the sales are there, great, keep up the good work.
But if you’re a beginner and the sales aren’t exactly promising, don’t hide behind phrases like the 3 I wrote at the beginning of this post.
Acknowledge that you have to implement changes and take it from there.
Again, your first sales aren’t important because they generate money, they’re important because they validate your strategy/approach.

Having a main income source other than domain sales provides a seller time for the market to mature if they are getting low offers.
If you are getting no offers then you have crap domains. 🙁
I have received more offers in the last 6 months that the last 5 years. Finally people are realizing that apps, mobile and social sites are a part of a marketing plan but putting all your eggs (business) on someone else’s platform rather than your own ie. “your domain name” is a recipe for failure.
Easy to remember generic .com and cctlds’ are money in the bank. imho.
If people think that ip address’s can be replaced dream on. What would you rather use an ip number or an easy to say and remember domain name into your phone or desktop???
The internet is still in it’s infancy. Domain names will be used as navigation tools and locators for the internet as long as it is around.
Easy to remember and say domains in .com and all major .cctld’s will continue to go up$, up$, up$.
