Parking pages is good only for newbies and for those who don't have time or wish to setup own sites. (there's post even in this blog, how it's easy). The fact, that search engines don't love parked domains, don't index their 'parking' content as 'pages'. Some advanced and more strict domain owners / webmasters state that "it's worst what you could do with your domain is to park it" (or like that) - and I agree...

Instead of parking, use BANS. It will let the domain age and possibly gain some income if the domain keyword is related to an ebay product. If you can't afford BANS then use a wordpress blog and a RSS scraper to make an ebay affiliate site.

Excellent post. Using modern open source CMS like Joomla or blogging platforms like WordPress and providing constant self updatable content and hosting it on a multiple domain service like host gator, one can create multiple quality sites.

Yes Barar ji, its true that one can make more money with a developed site/domain, but again the question that begs from most domainers is how do u develop domains into sites without incuring a good cost per site and ongoing tech. help for non techies.

Waiting to see ur advice on easy development of domains.
Thanks.

Great points in this article. However, for large portfolio holders, parking is the "waystation" for their domains while they pick the domains they want to build out, as you suggest. This is what I'm doing with my domains. If you have over 300 domains, you probably will be parking them even as you decide or begin working on building any of them into websites.

Keep up the good work!

As far as I know, it takes a bit of money to do more than park. Parking costs maybe US$8. Setting up an real, active website costs more.

Setting up an active website also requires a bit of technical expertise--or the money to pay a technician.

I get your point that parking is the lazy man's/woman's way out. But also it is the poor man's/woman's way out. And the technologically-challenged person's way out.

If you can demonstrate that I'm wrong, I'll appreciate it.

"To park or not to park the domain names is up to the domain name owner."

Ofcourse thats true, but more than the domain owner it depends on the domain name :)
