I couldnt agree more. direct navigation / type-in traffic is very important and a domain that gets a lot of “organic” type-in is great.
however, exact match is as important when coming to evaluate a domain.

It’s hard to compete against exact match domains. When I search for some terms to check out how powerful the competition is, it’s very rare not to encounter an exact match.

Releasing search volume data is probably the most important thing google ever did, most webmasters have no idea just how important this information is. While it may not be 100% accurate, it’s as close to 100% accurate as anyone will get and surely way more accurate than any 3rd party application. Search engine data coming from the actual search engine is everything webmasters could have asked for.

After 10-20 years when there will be tens of new global tlds, just imagine how valuable domains which are 10 or more years old today will be. How valuable do you think a domain registered in 2000 will be in 2030? Even the thought of it is exciting!!
